Announcing the 2021 MANRS Fellows

Today, we are proud to announce the 2021 MANRS Fellows. Fellows are emerging leaders who believe that routing security is essential and are ready to contribute to its improvement in training, research, or policy. Fellows work with Ambassadors – well respected routing security professionals from MANRS participant organizations – to improve their own skills while helping the wider Internet community.

The MANRS Fellowship Program offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of the MANRS initiative in international development. The Fellowship allows individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, and research experience into the MANRS work to improve routing security.

The Training Fellows are:

  • Musa Stephen Honlue, AFRINIC LTD
  • Ben Kyemba Kitimbo, Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU)
  • Naveen Karaparambil Lakshman, Graphite Networks
  • Daniel Mondragon, Costa Rica Internet Exchange (CRIX)
  • Kunal Krishnil Raj, Telecom Fiji Pte Ltd
  • Emmanuel Serrano Serrano, Universidad Autonoma de Yucatán

The Research Fellows are:

  • Romain Fontugne, Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ)
  • Chris Kane,  Arista
  • Dibya Khatiwada, Packet Clearing House
  • Cyrus Mbitau Njoka, Kemnet Technologies Limited

The Policy Fellows are:

  • Russell James Bean, Liberty Latin America (Cable & Wireless Panama)
  • Christopher Lee Bovee de Soto, SUNY Polytechnic Institute
  • Rebecca Emmanuel Ryakitimbo, Kuza STEAM Generation

Congratulations to all the selected Fellows!

Each Fellow must sign and return an agreement, so this list may change if any of the selected candidates can no longer participate and we call in alternates. The full list of Fellows, including their biographies and photos, will be available on our website within a couple of weeks.

The Internet Society supports the MANRS project as part of its work to strengthen the Internet and increase routing security. We’re also proud to have APRICOT as a sponsor of the MANRS Ambassador & Fellowship Program. We look forward to improving routing security around the world together.
