Nominee Details

Name: Sanjeev Gupta
Position: Principal Tech Architect
Organization: DCS1 Pte Ltd
MANRS participant (Y/N): Yes

Biographical Information

Through my work with ISoc, I have pushed for education and implementation of new, secure, technologies, including DNSSec, IPv6, MANRS, etc. I was part of the team that developed the Govt policies for education and training of IPv6 engineers from 2010 to 2016 in Malaysia and Singapore.

We are a small network, but have been dual-stacked from 2010, and were early adopters and evangelisers of the MANRS goals. We were among the first in the region to use RPKI for all our prefixes and ASNs.

I am also on ISO commitees, and the CSA Standards Working Groups. I participate in the IETF process, specifically on NTP.

Nominee Statement

My goals are modest. I would like to better educate leaf networks to use the hosted RPKI/ROA (eg,APNIC) infrastructure to sign their prefixes.

It is important that operators understand how easy this is. At a later stage, I would like to see better uptake of validating ROAs before propagation, this will require better vendor equipment support and training.

I do not believe that there should be RIR-mandated signing to exchange routes; but better understanding of the advantages will create the market pressure to achieve this.
