Requirements for Participation

By joining, you contribute to improving routing security of the Internet by implementing 2 mandatory ACTIONS and commit to active participation in the ongoing activities listed below.

  • Action 1. Provide solutions for the implementation of specific MANRS ACTIONS by other participants (Mandatory)
  • Action 2. Promote MANRS through training and technical content (Mandatory)
  • Commitment to ongoing activities (mandatory)

  • Upload a .jpg or .png version of your company's logo, suitable for display on a white background. This image will be published with your listing if your application is accepted.
  • Action 1. Provide solutions for the implementation of specific MANRS ACTIONS by other participants

  • Implementation of several actions in existing MANRS Programs (Network Operators, IXPs, CDN and Cloud Providers) depends on the availability of relevant features in the network equipment. In this document we call it a scenario.

    Specifically, the following actions require such support:

    Action 2. Prevent traffic with spoofed source IP addresses

    Action 1. Prevent propagation of incorrect routing information. (Route Server)

  • Has your organization implemented Action 1? *

    Please provide either OS versions and/or product lines of your equipment that supports features necessary for a specific MANRS scenario. Mandatory, at least one scenario should be supported.

  • For example not allowed Ethernet frame formats, not allowed Ethertypes, link-local protocols, such as IRDP, ICMP redirects, discovery protocols (CDP, EDP), VLAN/trunking protocols (VTP, DTP), BOOTP/DHCP, etc. MAC port security configuration.
  • Action 2. Promote MANRS through training and technical content

  • Has your organization implemented Action 2?*

    Mandatory, at least one of the sub-Actions needs to be implemented.

  • This could range from a short introduction to MANRS to a full course on how to implement MANRS actions.
  • In particular, provide VM images of the vendor OS and licenses for use in the lab.
  • This may be technical articles, blogposts and other types of publications.
  • This may be technical articles, blogposts and other types of publications.
    • Advisory: To advise members on how best to use features of routing equipment to achieve the desired results. To review and improve router configuration examples in MANRS documents.
    • Development: To respond to problem statements of members and to help develop solutions to those problems.
    • Contribution: To contribute to the development of the MANRS resources, such as the Implementation Guide and the MANRS Virtual Lab.
    • Promotion: Promote MANRS by various means, such as by indicating vendor participation in MANRS on the corporate website, at customer events, trade shows and other types of relevant activities. Examples are displaying the MANRS logo on the website on vendor’s promotional SWAG, or offering a presentation slot or space for a poster.
