Implementation of MANRS Actions

  • Action 1: Prevent propagation of incorrect routing information Our border routers have a policy statement which limits our BGP announcements to our own prefix list. We don't provide transit, so this is a simple policy.
  • Action 2: Prevent traffic with spoofed source IP addresses Nearly all routed subnets have a uRPF policy applied. The campus border routers also implement a traffic filter to deny sending traffic to the internet using anything other than our v4/v6 source addresses. They also prohibit receiving traffic traffic from the internet with our addresses as source addresses.
  • Action 3: Facilitate global operational communication and coordination We maintain current contact information with ARIN and Educause.
